Be active not just for physical

Physical activity does not only bring benefits to our body but is also associated with lower rates of depression and anxiety. It can assist in slowing age-related cognitive decline and promote well-being.

Exercise comes in many forms and can even be included in your daily life. Here are some ideas to help you get moving more and help improve mental health.

Go for a walk at lunchtime, taking 20 minutes active break won’t only help you well-being but your productivity for the afternoon will be better

Try walk or cycle into work if possible, or if you have to commute maybe there is cheaper parking further from work and you can walk or cycle some of it.

Get the family involved, instead of going straight home from school pick up, why not stop somewhere and kick a ball about, visit the woods go for an explore. I love spending time with my kids outdoors, it really gives me the opportunity to connect with them whilst having some fun.

Whenever you can take the opportunity to walk rather than drive, question do you really need to use the car or bus?
